Kemper Academy has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against The Franklin Academy Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Friday, Kemper Academy faced Calhoun Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Kemper Academy was beaten by Calhoun Academy 54-14. While losing is never fun, Kemper Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi football rankings (they are ranked 25th, while Calhoun Academy is ranked fourth).
Meanwhile, Franklin Academy fell victim to Christian Collegiate Academy's stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They took a serious blow against the Bulldogs, falling 42-0. Having soared to a lofty 62 points in the game before, Franklin Academy couldn't push the score so high this time.
Kemper Academy has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season. As for Franklin Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5.
Kemper Academy came up short against Franklin Academy in their previous meeting back in November of 2016, falling 50-40. Can Kemper Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
