Bishop Gorman is a perfect 7-0 against Silverado since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. Arbor View hit Silverado with a seven-run fifth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Skyhawks lost 11-1 to the Aggies. The Skyhawks have struggled against the Aggies recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.
Silverado saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jordyn Bunce, who went 1-for-3 with one run.
Silverado's defeat dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Bishop Gorman, their victory bumped their record up to 14-9-1.
Silverado's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Bishop Gorman has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9 hits per game. It's a different story for Silverado, though, as they've been averaging 9.2 hits. Given Bishop Gorman's sizable advantage in that area, the Skyhawks will need to find a way to close that gap.
Bishop Gorman took their win against Silverado in their previous matchup two weeks ago by a conclusive 14-4 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Gaels since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
