Bayside took care of business in their home opener on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Heritage Panthers by a score of 3-1. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Bears also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2023.
While Bayside might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Heritage scored at least 21 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 26-24, 20-25, 25-21, 26-24.
JaNay McLin paced Bayside's offense, picking up 13 kills. McLin got some help from Camille Moller and her 23 assists. Moller was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.
Several Panthers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Eva Vuichald, who had 15 digs and one block. Amber Gunter was another key player, getting 22 digs and three aces.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bayside will challenge Titusville at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Heritage, they will square off against Vero Beach at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
