Softball Recap: Tuesday's Victory Is Eastland's 13th in Last 17 Outings

There's no place like home for Eastland, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. Everything went their way against the Dublin Lions on Tuesday as they made off with an 18-3 win. Considering the Mavericks have won 12 matches by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Ana Cunningham looked comfortable as she pitched four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits.

At the plate, Jayci Majors was a standout: she scored two runs while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Yozelyn Ojeda, who scored three runs while going 1-for-3.

Eastland always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .576. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Eastland has been performing well recently as they've won 13 of their last 17 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.6 runs over those games. As for Dublin, they dropped their record down to 5-20 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road.
