Pleasanton is 1-8 against Somerset since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Pleasanton Eagles will head out on the road to take on the Somerset Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Pleasanton suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Tuesday. They took a serious blow against Devine, falling 54-21. While losing is never fun, Pleasanton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 898th, while Devine is ranked 375th).
Somerset lost a heartbreaker when they last took the court, but unfortunately for them the defeat they were handed on on Tuesday was a bit more commanding. They were the victim of a tough 65-42 loss at the hands of Carrizo Springs. Somerset just can't catch a break and has now endured three defeats in a row.
Pleasanton now has a losing record at 15-16. As for Somerset, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-23 record this season.
Pleasanton was able to grind out a solid victory over Somerset in their previous matchup on January 2nd, winning 36-28. The rematch might be a little tougher for Pleasanton since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
