Blake Ellis Sets Career High in Rushing Yards
Starting off the list is Humboldt's Blake Ellis, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. On Friday Ellis rushed for 193 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 7.4 yards per carry, and also threw for 183 yards and two touchdowns while completing 91.7% of his passes, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 72-yard run.
The victory for Humboldt keeps them at an undefeated 5-0. Ellis and Humboldt will welcome Bluestem at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Cole Ramey Dazzles in Neodesha Victory
Cole Ramey posted a new career-high in rushing yards on Friday. He picked up 76 receiving yards and a touchdown, and also rushed for 70 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries. His longest rush was for an impressive 57 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.
For the year, Ramey has caught 4 touchdowns while averaging 83.2 receiving yards per game. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he had one receiving touchdown.

Eureka Gets a Boost from Hare in 30-14 Victory
Peyton Hare was a major factor in Eureka's victory over Bluestem on Friday. Nobody could stop Hare as he rushed for 119 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries, and also threw for 21 yards and a touchdown. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 96-yard run.
Eureka pushed their record up to 4-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Hare and Eureka will face off against West Franklin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Colten Neal Crosses Big Stat Threshold
Sadly, Colten Neal posting his best game of the season wasn't enough to lead Bluestem over Eureka on Friday. Neal rushed for 171 yards and two touchdowns. The performance once again pushed his average rushing yardage north of 100 yards per game (104.2). Those 171 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.
Neal and Bluestem will square off against Humboldt at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Neal will face off against Cole G. Mathes, the Cubs' star running back. Will the matchup be decided in the trenches? We'll have our answer very soon.

J'vonte White Makes It Two for Neodesha
The second Neodesha player making an appearance here is J'Vonte White, and for good reason. He picked up 89 receiving yards and two touchdowns. The bulk of those receiving yards came from one huge play: a catch that gained an incredible 63 yards.
This year, White has caught those 2 touchdowns while averaging 33.5 receiving yards per game. It gets even more impressive: after four games last season, he was only averaging 7.75 rushing yards per game. This year he is averaging 43 rushing yards.
