Video: Pranksters plant 25-foot tree between pitcher's mound and home plate. The most environmentally friendly prank of all time.Franklin (Ohio) has become well-known in the high school sports world as the home of five-star Duke signee Luke Kennard.
The city of just over 11,000 people is quickly gaining even greater notoriety on social media after playing host to one of the most bizarre occurrences ever on a high school baseball field.
It appears that someone planted a tree directly in front of the pitcher's mound on the school's baseball field.
Seemingly a prank, the tree appeared in a photograph that hit Twitter (

Athletic Director Brian Bales got wind of the tree on Saturday morning.
"I got a call from our parks and recreation guy saying that we might have to cancel the doubleheader," Bales said. "The weather was beautiful out, so I asked him what for. He told me there was a 25-foot tree planted between home plate and the pitcher's mound."
The tree was removed on a trailer, and its current whereabouts are unknown.
Bales, who has been involved in high school athletics for nearly 20 years, says he's never seen anything like it.
"I've seen a lot of pranks but that's a new one," he said. "I'm going to look into it, and there will be consequences."
