Softball Recap: Tuesday's Victory Is Cape Henry Collegiate's Fourth in Last Five Outings

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Nansemond-Suffolk Academy, Cape Henry Collegiate was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They never let the Norfolk Academy Bulldogs get on the board and left with an 11-0 win. Considering the Dolphins have won eight matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Alex Bernstein was a standout: she went 1-for-3 with five stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those five stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Marshall Daniel, who got on base in two of her four plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Cape Henry Collegiate is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Norfolk Academy, they now have a losing record of 5-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cape Henry Collegiate will welcome Peninsula Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Norfolk Academy, they will be playing at home against Collegiate at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
