Softball Recap: Friday's Win Is Wood's Sixth in Last Seven Outings

Wood's game on Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Sacramento Dragons a 7-0 shutout. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by seven runs or more this season.

Wood has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.6 runs over those games. As for Sacramento, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8-1.

Wood didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 7-6 loss against Rodriguez on the 23rd. Sacramento does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
