The St. Anthony Saints are taking a road trip to take on the Ramona Convent Tigers at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. St. Anthony has given up an average of 15 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
St. Anthony is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They lost 21-5 to Mary Star of the Sea on Tuesday. Saints fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Stars since Tuesday.
Ivy Burnham was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, she gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest she's had since back in April of 2025. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Ramona Convent duked it out with Bishop Conaty-Loretto on Tuesday. The Tigers put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp 10-0 win. That looming 10-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Tigers yet this season.
Like St. Anthony, Ramona Convent also got a great game from a two-way player: Madison Garcia. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. Garcia has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Abigail Vazquez and Chloe Gonzalez did most of the damage at the plate: Vazquez went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles, while Gonzalez went 3-for-4 with three runs and two doubles. Those doubles were Gonzalez's first of the season. Ruby Quintero was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Ramona Convent always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .581. The last time their OBP was this high was back in May of 2025.
St. Anthony's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Ramona Convent, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-10.
