The biggest upset of the week belonged to Monett, who took down 43rd ranked Aurora, 21-0.
Lamar was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from sixth to fourth in Big 8. The Tigers defeated Butler 63-12 earlier in the week.
Carl Junction's dynamic duo of Dustin Satterlee and Matt Magee proved tough for Cassville to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Satterlee threw for 297 yards and three touchdowns and Magee had 135 yards receiving. J Thomas helped Carl Junction's passing attack out by catching nine balls for 81 yards.
Calvin Bremmerkamp made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Bulldogs lost to the Wildcats. The junior forced one fumble.
Everett Basham was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 11 carries, he ran for 27 yards as the Houn Dawgs lost to Cassville. Teammate William Blankenship added to the ground attack by rushing for 13 yards.
Jesse Wall's team's Satterlee and Magee have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Satterlee has thrown for 957 yards this season, while Magee has 28 catches for 343 yards. Shane Williams from Mt. Vernon leads the league in rushing with 613 yards.
A big matchup in Big 8 this week will be when the Cubs take on David Large's team. Monett is currently in third, while the Wildcats are in first.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Chad Depee's team takes on Cassville. The Cubs have allowed 47 points this season, while the Wildcats have given up 45.
Cassville extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating the Bulldogs, 34-24. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.
