The Lakeview Bulldogs will venture away from home to square off against the West Branch Warriors at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Lakeview comes in on four and West Branch on three.
Lakeview will bounce into Saturday's match after beating Champion, who they had gone 0-6 against in their six prior meetings. The Bulldogs walked away with a 7-3 win over the Golden Flashes on Thursday.

Isabella Isenberg made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kennedy Bartlett, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. She is on a roll when it comes to hits, as she's now got three or more in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Mackenzie Stowe, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
Lakeview was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .355 or higher in three consecutive games.
West Branch came out on top against Alliance on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run first inning. The Warriors were the clear victors by a 14-6 margin over the Aviators. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by six runs or more this season.
Like Lakeview, West Branch also got a great game from a two-way player: Klary McKay. She tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. McKay was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with two runs. That's the most runs she has posted since April 3rd.
In other batting news, Libbie Davis and Zoe Carreon did most of the damage at the plate: Davis got on base in all five of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs, while Carreon went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those three hits gave Carreon a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Addi Craven, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI.
West Branch pushed their record up to 12-3 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Lakeview, their record is now 10-3.
Saturday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Lakeview hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .384. However, it's not like West Branch struggles in that department as they've averaged .346. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Lakeview suffered a grim 13-3 defeat to West Branch in their previous matchup back in April of 2019. Can the Bulldogs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
