The High Plains Storm stacked a seventh blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Monday. They breezed by St. Edward at home to the tune of 64-24. While fans of High Plains might be used to big wins, the 40-point margin marked the team's biggest win yet this season.
Despite the loss, St. Edward still got an impressive performance from Anthony Reader, who scored 14 points.
High Plains has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. As for St. Edward, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season.
High Plains will head out on the road to face off against the Eagles on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Nebraska (Bruning-Davenport/Shickley is ranked 192nd, while the Storm are ranked 174th). As for St. Edward, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th. Fullerton is no doubt hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses.
