The Ithaca Yellowjackets put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. In a tight game that could have gone either way, they made off with a 28-27 victory over Fowler.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Ithaca to victory, but perhaps none more so than Noah Risner, who rushed for 79 yards and a touchdown on only six carries. Kaleb Hallock got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Ithaca's victory was their tenth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 10-0. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-9 Carrollton/Saginaw and 1-8 St. Louis (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 44.3% over those games). As for Fowler, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-2.
Ithaca will head out on the road to face off against New Lothrop at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. New Lothrop will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each match than the last. Fowler does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
