Tuesday just wasn't the day for West Broward's offense. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Doral Academy on Tuesday. The loss continues a trend for the Bobcats in their meetings with the Firebirds: they've now lost four in a row.
Meanwhile, after only one run in their last game, Somerset Academy (Silver Palms) made sure to put some runs up on the board against Schoolhouse Prep on Wednesday. The Stallions were the clear victors by a 12-5 margin over the Wolfpack. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Stallions.
Taylor Rebhan was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Leilani Gonzalez, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.
Somerset Academy (Silver Palms) was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .412. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Schoolhouse Prep only posted a batting average of .276.
Somerset Academy (Silver Palms)'s win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-4. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for West Broward, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-5.
Somerset Academy (Silver Palms)'s hitters will have their work cut out for them on Friday. West Broward has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.2 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Somerset Academy (Silver Palms), though, as they've been averaging only 3.4 strikeouts. Will West Broward keep running through batters, or will the Stallions buck the trend?
