The Highland Rams's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a serious blow against Pocatello, falling 53-23. Highland has struggled against Pocatello recently, as their game on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
When it comes to explaining why Highland lost, one person who can't be blamed is Rian Pokibro. Despite the final result, she scored nine points along with eight rebounds. Pokibro scored a full 39.1% of Highland's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Highland's defeat was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-7. As for Pocatello, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 6-2.
Highland will play host again and welcome Century, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Century focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 last Thursday. Pocatello is on the road again on Friday and play against Middleton at 7:30 p.m. on December 15th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Idaho (Middleton is ranked 49th, while Pocatello is ranked 28th).
