4A District 2 recap November 5, 2013
Bernalillo and Santa Fe played the most contested game in 4A District 2 this week, with Bernalillo eventually emerging with a 43-42 victory. Jamal Campbell during the win.
Los Alamos took down Capital 42-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
The Demons' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Robert Corriz threw for 45 yards and Mario Holladay had 30 yards receiving. On the ground Rayes Montano chipped in 150 yards. Christian Gonzales helped Santa Fe's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 15 yards.
Santa Fe's dynamic duo of Corriz and Holladay proved to be unstoppable against the Spartans, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Gonzales helped Santa Fe's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 15 yards.
Montano was a passing and rushing force as Ray Holladay's team lost to Bernalillo. Montano's favorite target this week was Holladay, who caught 3 passes for 30 yards.
5-foot-11 quarterback Ralf Olguin of Ken Noel's team is the league leader in passing yards this season with 893. He has also thrown 8 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Tristen Hill. The Los Alamos star has 9 catches for 200 yards.
As it stands, the Demons are in second, while the Jaguars are in third.
The Spartans made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 11,197 from 11,550. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 43-42 victory over Santa Fe last week.
