Green Level's loss came about despite a quality game from Claire Barber, who went 7 of 14 en route to 20 points. The contest was Barber's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gwen Boles, who posted five points and nine rebounds.
Meanwhile, Holly Springs was beaten by Seaforth 68-31 back in December of 2024. While losing is never fun, the Golden Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 323rd, while the Hawks are ranked 22nd).
Green Level will have to contain Kalaesia Lincoln as she made an impact in Holly Springs' last game. She put up 14 points. What's more, Lincoln also racked up two blocks, the most she's had since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Amy Lissow, who had seven points.
Green Level's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-5. As for Holly Springs, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Green Level has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 27.4 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Holly Springs struggles in that department as they've been averaging 25.2 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Green Level took their win against Holly Springs in their previous matchup back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 68-46. Will Green Level repeat their success, or does Holly Springs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
