Cheatham County Central has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against The East Nashville Magnet Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. After soaring to 56 points the game before, Cheatham County Central were a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They were outmatched by Lawrence County at home and fell 48-6. Cheatham County Central was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-0.
Meanwhile, East Nashville Magnet stacked a seventh blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. They blew past Stratford, posting a 35-0 win at home. The victory was familiar territory for East Nashville Magnet who now have three in a row.
Among those leading the charge was Keith Johnson, who rushed for 138 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries. East Nashville Magnet also got a significant boost from Kelan Anderson, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 81 yards.
The team's defense also helped out by holding Stratford to a paltry 167 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to East Nashville Magnet's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid him out five times before it was all said and done. Leading the way was Malik Bolling and his three sacks.
Lawrence County's victory bumped their season record to 4-6 while Cheatham County Central's loss dropped theirs to 3-7.
Cheatham County Central came up short against East Nashville Magnet in their previous matchup back in November of 2017, falling 13-3. Thankfully for Cheatham County Central, Rondarius Gregory (who rushed for 263 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.5 yards per carry) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
