The Greenwood Rangers pushed their score all the way to 91 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They received a tough blow as they fell 107-91 to Burkburnett. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Thursday (67), Greenwood still had to take the loss.
Loss or not, Greenwood got some senior leadership from Ty Presley who scored 47 points and Tatum Pierce who scored 34 points. Pierce scored a full 37.4% of Greenwood's points, the sixth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
This is the second loss in a row for Greenwood and nudges their season record down to 8-4. As for Burkburnett, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.
Greenwood's road trip will continue as they head out to face Legacy Christian Academy at 3:00 p.m. on December 8th. Legacy Christian Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 812th, while Greenwood is ranked 231st). As for Burkburnett, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Randall at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Randall has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 333 points over their last four matchups.
