The Omaha Nation Chiefs's 17-8 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They took a 61-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of Oakland-Craig on Tuesday. Omaha Nation lost against Oakland-Craig in their previous head to head back in February, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 61-49 score last time.
Oakland-Craig's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Braylon Anderson, who scored 15 points along with nine rebounds and five assists. The match was Anderson's ninth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaak Maxwell, who scored 15 points.
Omaha Nation has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for Oakland-Craig, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-4.
Omaha Nation will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Parkview Christian at 7:30 p.m. on January 4, 2024. Oakland-Craig will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Stanton at 7:45 p.m. on January 5, 2024.
