The Gautier Gators will head out on the road to face off against the Laurel Golden Tornadoes at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Gautier will be strutting in after a victory while Laurel will be coming in after a loss.
Last Tuesday, Gautier didn't have too much breathing room in their match against East Central, but they still walked away with a 42-38 win. The win was just what Gautier needed coming off of a 55-28 defeat in their prior match.
Meanwhile, Laurel pushed their score all the way to 72 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 77-72 hit to the loss column at the hands of St. Patrick.
Gautier is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 4-4 record this season. As for Laurel, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-8.
Gautier came up short against Laurel in their previous matchup back in February of 2021, falling 48-43. Can Gautier avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
