The El Rancho Dons 's's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their sixth straight loss. They took a 48-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of Oxford Academy. El Rancho lost against Oxford Academy in their previous head to head back in November of 2018, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 70-55 score last time.
El Rancho's loss came despite strong showings from Troy Barajas and Jason Guzman. Barajas scored 13 points, while Guzman scored 14 points along with seven rebounds. Those 13 points set a new season-high mark for him.
El Rancho's defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 2-13. As for Oxford Academy, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-9.
El Rancho is on the road again on Wednesday and play against Katella at 4:30 p.m. on December 27th. As for Oxford Academy, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on West Covina at 6:00 p.m. on December 27th.
