Bovina took a 43-30 hit to the loss column at the hands of Vega on Tuesday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Bovina in their matchups with Vega: they've now lost five in a row.
Despite the loss, Bovina still got an impressive performance from Miguel Lopez, who scored 14 points along with four steals. Yandel Deleon was another key contributor, scoring five points along with six rebounds.
Bovina has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-14 record this season. As for Vega, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-6.
Bovina will head out on the road to square off against Panhandle at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Panhandle is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak. As for Vega, they will be playing at home against Farwell at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Farwell has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last five games.
