After flying high against the Clay County Tigers last Friday, the Jackson County Generals came back down to earth. Jackson County's tough 49-26 loss to Ingomar on Wednesday might stick with them for a while. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Jackson County has scored all season.
Macie Phifer continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Ingomar, scoring 30 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. The matchup was Phifer's eighth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylie Jumper, who scored ten points along with three steals.
Jackson County's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Ingomar, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 15-2.
Jackson County is on the road again on Friday and play against Central Wise at 10:00 a.m. on December 22nd. Central Wise knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight contests -- so hopefully Jackson County likes a good challenge. Ingomar won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Gatlinburg-Pittman at 7:00 p.m. on December 21st. Gatlinburg-Pittman is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
