The Twelve Bridges Raging Rhinos and the Casa Roble Rams squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Twelve Bridges Raging Rhinos had to settle for second. They and the Rams were almost perfectly matched up, but they suffered an agonizing 23-22 defeat. Twelve Bridges' defeat signaled the end of their 12-game winning streak.
Casa Roble's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Connor Campbell led the charge by rushing for 79 yards and a touchdown on only six carries, while also throwing for 126 yards and a touchdown. Braylen Blevins was another key contributor, gaining 103 total yards and a touchdown.
Twelve Bridges' loss dropped their record down to 12-1. As for Casa Roble, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 12-1.
Twelve Bridges does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Casa Roble will head out on the road to face off against Soquel at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Soquel is on a four-game streak of home wins, Casa Roble a nine-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season)-- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the field.
