Newton South will be defending their home turf for the first time on Friday when they go up against Boston Latin at 7:00 PM. Newton South are the favorites in this one -- although they were the favorites in their last matchup, too, so the odds might count for a little less.
If Newton South were riding high off their 27-0 takedown of Brookline two weeks ago, that ride came to an abrupt end. Newton South came up short against Waltham last Friday, falling 0-8.
Meanwhile, we expected Boston Latin to have trouble with the significantly higher ranked Wayland, and they did. Boston Latin suffered a grim 21-46 defeat to Wayland.
Given that they both suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this weekend. We'll see which team satisfies their hunger and which team leaves with an empty stomach.
