Trinity recap September 17, 2013
St. John Bosco's Sean McGrew recorded the longest rushing play in Trinity this season in his game against Chandler last week. McGrew's team defeated the Wolves as he sprinted for 88 yards on the play and finished with 128 in all.
Mater Dei took down Carson 33-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
JSerra Catholic's dynamic duo of Nick Robinson and Dante Pettis proved tough for Huntington Beach to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Robinson threw for 297 yards and 5 touchdowns and Pettis had 174 yards receiving. Casey Eugenio helped JSerra Catholic's passing attack out by catching 5 balls for 95 yards.
The Lions' dynamic duo of Robinson and Pettis proved to be unstoppable against the Oilers, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
McGrew was the best running back in the league this week. Teammate Manasseh Anesi added to the ground attack by rushing for 64 yards.
Robinson put up the best numbers through the air as JSerra Catholic beat Huntington Beach.
He was 19-25 with 2 interceptions.
Pettis was the best receiver in the league this week as Jim Hartigan's team beat Eric Lo's team.
Daniel (D.J.) Bailey made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Lions defeated the Oilers. The 6-foot-2 junior.
Santa Margarita's KJ Costello and Kyle Sweet have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading Trinity in both passing and receiving yards. 6-4 quarterback Costello has thrown for 686 yards this season, while Sweet has 20 catches for 515 yards. Servite's Travis Waller leads the league in rushing yards with 334.
St. John Bosco led the league in scoring this week after putting up 52 points on Chandler. Andrew Katnik threw for 121 yards and 2 touchdowns and ran for 11 yards during the win.
