Softball Recap: Darlington Sets Scoring Season-High Against Lower Richland

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Darlington). They blew past the Lower Richland Diamond Hornets 19-1 on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won five contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Emily Johnson was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and two triples. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kayden Leonard, who scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Darlington always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .821. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Darlington has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. Lower Richland's loss was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-6.
