Having just played yesterday, the Citrus Hill Hawks will jump right back in to play the Colton Yellowjackets at 10:30 a.m. on Friday. Hopefully Citrus Hill focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Thursday.
On Thursday, things could have been worse for Citrus Hill, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 67-52 loss to Corona. While losing is never fun, Citrus Hill can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1147th, while Corona is ranked 401st).
The losing side was boosted by Roland Thibodeaux, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. The game was his 13th in a row with at least ten points. Kannon Steward was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Colton didn't have too much trouble with Loma Linda Academy on the road on Thursday as they won 61-45. The victory was just what Colton needed coming off of a 67-42 loss in their prior matchup.
Citrus Hill has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season. As for Colton, the win got them back to even at 7-7.
Things could have been worse for Citrus Hill, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 53-36 loss to Colton when the teams last played back in December of 2022. Can Citrus Hill avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
