The Lamar Silver Foxes will be playing in front of their home fans against the Carvers Bay Bears at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
With a playoff game on the line, Lamar rose to the challenge on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 27-6 margin over Branchville. The victory was nothing new for Lamar as they're now sitting on seven straight.
Lamar found their leader in underclassman Zori Pierce, who rushed for 172 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries, and also threw for 63 yards and a touchdown. Pierce's longest rush was for an incredible 88 yards. Another player making a difference was Travion Mcphail, who rushed for 138 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.7 yards per carry.
Meanwhile, after only 12 points in their last game, Carvers Bay made sure to put some points up on the board against Baptist Hill on Friday. Carvers Bay blew past Baptist Hill 62-32 on the road.
Lamar pushed their record up to 8-3 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 26.8 points per game. As for Carvers Bay, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-6 record this season.
