The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Mays came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 71st, while the Knights are ranked 306th).
Despite the loss, Mays still got an impressive performance from Derron Lindsey ii, who scored 24 points along with eight rebounds. That was a full 39.3% of Mays' points, marking the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Germani Wilson was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds.
Mays' loss dropped their record down to 15-7. As for Midtown, their win bumped their record up to 8-15.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mays and the Lions will face off at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Lithia Springs has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 2-1 during that stretch of close contests.
