The Cedar Reds's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fifth straight loss. They fell 67-55 to Pine View. While losing is never fun, Cedar can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 83rd, while Pine View is ranked 18th).
Cedar lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Landon Kreitzer, who scored 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Easton Albrecht, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds.
Nash Schroeder continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Pine View, scoring 29 points along with five steals. Schroeder has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 13 times he's played. Griffen Shepherd was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with six rebounds.
Cedar's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Pine View, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.
Cedar will be playing in front of their home fans against Dixie at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Dixie has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 699 points over their last ten contests. As for Pine View, they will head out on the road to square off against Crimson Cliffs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Crimson Cliffs is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 67 points per game.
