For Lincoln, this counts as revenge for the 57-45 loss Sergeant Bluff-Luton walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.
Lincoln's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Hutson Rau, who scored 12 points along with 6 steals. Another player making a difference was Preslie Girres, who scored 16 points along with 5 rebounds.
Lincoln's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Sergeant Bluff-Luton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lincoln will take on Sioux City North at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Sioux City North will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Iowa Rankings (they are ranked 208th, while Lincoln is ranked 64th). As for Sergeant Bluff-Luton, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Jefferson at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Jefferson comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
