James Buchanan and Waynesboro are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2017, but likely not for long. The Rockets will host the Indians at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. James Buchanan is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.

Last Wednesday, James Buchanan beat Boiling Springs 8-5. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rockets.

Lilianna Wiley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and four unearned) runs on five hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, James Buchanan let Emileigh Linn and Karli Gordon run wild. Linn scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4, while Gordon scored three runs while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Audrey Dickson, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.

James Buchanan was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .394. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Boiling Springs only posted a batting average of .240.

Meanwhile, Waynesboro can bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They put the hurt on West Perry with a sharp 11-3 win. The game marked the Indians' most dominant victory of the season.

James Buchanan's win was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-3. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Waynesboro, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 3-5.

James Buchanan came out on top in a nail-biter against Waynesboro in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, sneaking past 4-3. Do the Rockets have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Indians turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
