Given Morgan County's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 195th, while the Seminoles are ranked 498th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Precious Benford was the offensive standout of the game as she scored six points along with nine rebounds and four steals. Cydney Burke was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Morgan County is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-10 record this season. As for Salem, their loss was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-16.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Morgan County will face off against the Razorbacks at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Salem, they will head out on the road to challenge the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
