Meanwhile, Lovington faced Dexter in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Wildcats fell just short of the Demons by a score of 3-1. It was the first time this season that the Wildcats let down their fans at home.
Sabrie Sanchez spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on ten hits and racked up seven Ks.
On the hitting side, Lovington saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Anahie Quiroga, who went 1-for-4 with one RBI.
