The DuPont Manual Crimsons will take on the Meade County Green Waves at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (DuPont Manual 3.9, Meade County 3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Meade County will be up against a hot DuPont Manual team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. The Crimsons walked away with an 11-7 victory over Sacred Heart on Wednesday.
Hailey Kincaid made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

In other batting news, Bailey Fetcher was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Sophie Bynum, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI.
DuPont Manual kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Meade County unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of Floyd Central by a score of 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Green Waves have suffered since March 25th.
Meade County saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kendall Buchanan, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.
DuPont Manual's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-7. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Meade County, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-8.
Thursday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. DuPont Manual hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .368. However, it's not like Meade County struggles in that department as they've averaged .320. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
DuPont Manual was able to grind out a solid win over Meade County when the teams last played back in May of 2024, winning 5-2. Do the Crimsons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Green Waves turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
