Minico extended their losing streak to four on Monday, dropping them down to 9-13. They came up short against the Twin Falls Bruins, falling 17-10. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bruins this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-2 on Monday.
Akiely Gomez stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Maci Woodward was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
As for Twin Falls, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-11. The result was nothing new for the Bruins, who have now won eight contests by six runs or more so far this season.
On Twin Falls' side, Audrey Gourley made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Gourley has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-5 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, Twin Falls got a massive performance out of Libby Torgrimson, who went 2-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Braylin Iverson, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.
As of now, neither Minico nor Twin Falls have any future games scheduled.
