Joaquin has gone 9-1 against Chireno recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Joaquin Rams will look to defend their home field against the Chireno Owls at 6:05 p.m. Joaquin will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
Joaquin took a 15-run loss the last time they faced off against Lovelady, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Joaquin skirted past Lovelady 6-5. Six seems to be a good number for the Rams as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.
Karson Rogers was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Kason Stanaland was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in both of his plate appearances.
Joaquin was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .381. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .316 or higher in four consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Chireno). They came out on top against Deweyville by a score of 6-2 on Friday.
Camden Nichols was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only a hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Nichols was also big at the plate, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Tate Johnson, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
Joaquin's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Chireno, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2-2.
Chireno's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Joaquin hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .345. It's a different story for Chireno, though, as they've only averaged .148. Will they be able to contain Joaquin's hitters?
Joaquin took their win against Chireno in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 21-2. Does Joaquin have another victory up their sleeve, or will Chireno turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
