The biggest upset of the week belonged to Sunlake, who took down 230th ranked Sunlake, 13-7. Tyler Mahla threw for 22 yards and ran for 21 yards in the win.
Nature Coast Tech was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from seventh to fourth in 6A District 6. Earlier in the week, the Sharks defeated Central 47-0.
Mitchell's dynamic duo of Trey Drury and Dan Barber proved tough for River Ridge to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Drury threw for 150 yards and three touchdowns and Barber had 90 yards receiving. Anthony Pack helped Mitchell's passing attack out by catching one ball for 32 yards.
Matthew Breida was the most productive running back in the league this week. In eight carries, he ran for 201 yards as Nature Coast Tech topped the Knights /Royal. Teammate CJ Maner added to the ground attack by rushing for 76 yards.
Mitchell's Drury and Barber have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Drury has thrown for 379 yards this season, while Barber, a 5-foot-8 receiver, has five catches for 151 yards. Charles Liggett's team's Breida leads the league in rushing yards with 603.
A big matchup in 6A District 6 this week will be when the Seahawks take on Scott Schmitz's team. Sunlake is currently in third, while the Mustangs are in second.
Springstead moved up to 166 from 252 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. A 13-7 win over Bill Browning's team helped the Eagles improve their standing.
