The Eaglecrest Raptors entered their tilt with the Grandview Wolves with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Eaglecrest took down the Wolves 51-33 on Friday. Given Eaglecrest's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked eighth, while the Wolves are ranked 105th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Garrett Barger, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds and three blocks. Ladavian King was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with eight rebounds and seven assists.
When it comes to explaining why Grandview lost, one person who can't be blamed is Breven Anderson. Despite the final result, he scored ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Riddick, who scored six points along with six rebounds and two blocks.
Eaglecrest is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. As for Grandview, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-14.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Eaglecrest will take on the Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Grandview, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against the Buffaloes at 7:00 p.m. Smoky Hill knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 19 matches -- so hopefully the Wolves like a good challenge.
