1A Conference 42 recap October 1, 2013
Middlesex led 1A Conference 42 in scoring this week by notching 28 points on Northumberland. Marques Holmes threw for 42 yards and ran for 227 yards in the win.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, West Point's Robert "Mikey" Anerton and Chase Stewart have proven to be a lethal combination. Anerton has thrown for 1,039 yards this season, while Stewart, a 5-foot-11 receiver, has 18 catches for 393 yards. Holmes from the Chargers leads the league in rushing with 749 yards.
Middlesex made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 11,093 from 11,500. The improvement was largely due to a 28-20 victory over the Indians last week.
