The Northeast Metro RVT Knights lost against the Stoneham Spartans back in January of 2019, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Northeast Metro RVT had to suffer through a rough 74-46 loss at the hands of Stoneham. Northeast Metro RVT was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-18.
Northeast Metro RVT lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Alesandre Monge, who scored 16 points along with three steals. Those 16 points set a new season-high mark for him. Richard Cardoso was another key contributor, scoring six points along with eight rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for Northeast Metro RVT and nudges their season record down to 3-5. As for Stoneham, their win ended a ten-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northeast Metro RVT won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Innovation Academy at 5:30 p.m. on January 11th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Massachusetts (Innovation Academy is ranked 206th, while Northeast Metro RVT is ranked 231st). As for Stoneham, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Watertown at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Watertown knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully Stoneham likes a good challenge.
