Lowry hasn't had much luck against Elko recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Buckaroos will square off against the Indians at 1:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Lowry comes in on three and Elko on 15.
For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Lowry and Sparks meet (two straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Friday. The Buckaroos put the hurt on the Railroaders with a sharp 15-1 win.

Erick Valencia made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. He has become a key player for Lowry: the team is undefeated when he posts at least three RBI, but 2-23-1 otherwise.
In other batting news, Manny Herrera was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with two triples, two RBI, and one run. Those two triples gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jaxson Morgan, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.
Lowry kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive contests.
The home team had won the previous two meetings between Elko and Fernley, and Elko kept the tradition alive. The Indians blew past the Vaqueros 8-1 on Saturday. Considering the Indians have won 17 matchups by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Adam Roumanos was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over 5.2 innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, Coy Jones was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. Cooper Aranguena was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.
Lowry's record is now 5-23-1. As for Elko, their record now sits at 23-6.
Lowry might still be hurting after the 16-1 loss they got from Elko in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Buckaroos avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
