For the first time this season, Miramonte will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will challenge the Mt. Diablo Red Devils at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Miramonte is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season.
On Monday, Miramonte got the win against Deer Valley by a conclusive 15-1. The match marked the Matadors' most dominant win of the season.
Abby Warren made a big impact no matter where she played. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Miramonte let Talia Kardon and Julia Quinn-Ferguson run wild. Kardon went 3-for-5 with four runs, five RBI, and one triple, while Quinn-Ferguson went a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those five RBI gave Kardon a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lucy Daoust, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.
Miramonte kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.5 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 12.
Meanwhile, Mt. Diablo fell victim to Tamalpais and their airtight pitching crew last Friday. They came up short against the Red Tailed Hawks, falling 19-0. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Red Devils' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
Miramonte has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.1 runs over those games. As for Mt. Diablo, they dropped their record down to 3-9 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
Miramonte took their win against Mt. Diablo in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 9-3 score. Do the Matadors have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Red Devils turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
