Volleyball Recap: Blair Takes a Loss

After a string of three wins, Blair's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They came up short against the Gretna Dragons, falling 3-0. The Bears were not able to make up for their defeat to the Dragons from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

Blair was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-8, 25-23, 25-15.

Emma Ammon paced Blair's offense, picking up nine kills. Ammon got some help from Olivia Wolff and her 17 assists. Ammon was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Gretna can attribute much of their success to Lily Zimmerman, who had 18 digs. That's the most digs Zimmerman has posted over her last seven matchups.

Blair's loss dropped their record down to 20-12. As for Gretna, their win bumped their record up to 24-6.

Looking ahead, Blair will be playing in front of their home fans against Platteview at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Gretna, they will head out on the road to challenge Pius X on Tuesday.
