The Fort Collins Lambkins will venture away from home to square off against the Rocky Mountain Lobos at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Wednesday, Fort Collins made easy work of Greeley West and carried off an 11-1 win. The Lambkins haven't had any issues with the Spartans recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Coy Priebe made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. Fort Collins is 2-1 when Priebe allows one or fewer earned runs, but 6-8 otherwise. Priebe was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Those two hits gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ben Hopper, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. He has become a key player for Fort Collins: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least one home run, but 6-8 otherwise. Kincade Crow was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Rocky Mountain waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 9-4 win over the Bulldogs.
Like Fort Collins, Rocky Mountain also got a great game from a two-way player: Wrigley Cox. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Cox has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
In other batting news, Roan Kachel and Erik Jacobson did most of the damage at the plate: Kachel went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI, while Jacobson went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one RBI. Jacobson has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Max Abernathy, who got on base in both of his plate appearances with two runs.
Rocky Mountain pushed their record up to 12-5 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Fort Collins, their record is now 8-9.
Fort Collins was able to grind out a solid victory over Rocky Mountain in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, winning 6-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lambkins since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
