Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Princeton

Princeton took a eight-run defeat the last time they faced off against Nash Central, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Princeton came out on top in a nail-biter against Nash Central on Monday, sneaking past 7-6. The win was nothing new for Princeton as they're now sitting on three straight.

Chloe Herring spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and five unearned) runs on five hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Khloe Jones, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Madison Mitchell, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Princeton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .464. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .375 or higher in three consecutive matches.

Princeton's record is now 9-7. As for Nash Central, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-9.

Coincidentally, Princeton and Nash Central will both be playing Bunn the next time they take the field. Nash Central will head out to face Bunn at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while Princeton will host them at 6:30 p.m. on the 22nd.
