Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Brunswick Dragons, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They took a hard 40-22 fall against Greely on Saturday. Brunswick was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Greely apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September.
Despite the loss, Brunswick still got an impressive performance from Cam Beal, who threw for 196 yards and three touchdowns. Trevor Gerrish was another key contributor, picking up 92 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Brunswick's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Greely, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-3.
Brunswick does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Greely will be playing in front of their home fans against Mount Desert Island at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Maine (Mount Desert Island is ranked second, while Greely is ranked fifth).
